Vintage Vanguard has an extensive collection of Blue Note covers. Reid Miles, was the brilliance behind a lot of these covers. I had read somewhere he was more interested in classical music and didn’t really enjoy jazz that much. Maybe that outsider perspective is part of what makes all of these work so well.
